Gaviscon Peppermint Tablets brings relief from the pain and discomfort of heartburn and acid indigestion, which for example, can occur after meals or during pregnancy. They belong to a group of medicines called 'reflux suppressants', which form a protective layer on the stomach contents to prevent stomach acid escaping from the stomach where it works in to food pipe where it hurts. These tablets are sugar and gluten free.
Indications:
- Relief of heartburn and acid indigestion (also known as dyspepsia).
- Relief of symptoms of conditions eg, hiatus hernia and reflux oesophagitis (inflamed food pipe), including symptoms of laryngopharyngeal reflux such as hoarseness and other voice disorders, sore throats and cough.
- Treat symptoms of gastrooesophageal reflux during concomitant treatment with or following withdrawal of acid suppressing therapy.
Dosage and Directions For Use:
- Adults, including elderly and children above 12 years: 2-4 tablets after meals and at bedtime, or as directed.
- Children below 12 years: Should only be given only on medical advice.
- Chew thoroughly before swallowing.
- Can be taken by pregnant and breastfeeding women.

- Sodium alginate BP 250mg
- Sodium hydrogen carbonate 133.5mg
- Calcium carbonate 85mg
- Mannitol (E421), macrogol 20000, copovidone, aspartame (E951), coolmint flavouring, magnesium stearate, acesulfame potassium
Cautions:
- If symptoms persist, consult your doctor's advice.
- Each 4 tablets contain 10.6mmol of sodium. If you have been adviced to follow a low sodium diet, ask your doctor before taking this product.
- If you have phenylketonuria, note that the product is sweetened with aspartame, a source of phenylalanine.
- Do not take if you know you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
- 2 hours interval between Gaviscon intake and other medicines.
- Store below 30°C.
