GANFORT PF is a high-potency, preservative-free ophthalmic solution designed for patients who require significant reduction in intraocular pressure (IOP) but suffer from sensitive or dry eyes. By combining two world-class active agents, it attacks the problem of eye pressure from two different angles:
- The Bimatoprost Effect: A prostaglandin analog that increases the outflow of fluid (aqueous humor) from the eye.
- The Timolol Effect: A beta-blocker that reduces the production of fluid within the eye.
- Preservative-Free (PF) Advantage: Standard eye drops often contain benzalkonium chloride (BAK), which can damage the corneal surface over time. Ganfort PF is sterile and single-use, making it the gold standard for patients with Ocular Surface Disease or chronic dry eye.
- Clinical Efficacy: This "Dual Action" formula is typically prescribed when single-agent drops are not enough to reach the target pressure required to prevent vision loss.
Key Indications:
- Open-angle glaucoma.
- Ocular hypertension (high eye pressure).
-Ideal for patients sensitive to preservatives.
How to Use:
- Dosage: One drop in the affected eye(s) once daily, preferably in the evening.
- Administration: Twist off the tab of the single-dose vial. Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid, and instill one drop.
- Hygienic Tip: Discard the vial immediately after a single use, even if some liquid remains. Do not save opened vials for the next day.
- Contact Lenses: Remove contact lenses before use. Wait at least 15 minutes before re-inserting them.
