GENTAMICIN-POS is a sterile antibiotic ointment formulated to treat external bacterial infections of the eye and its surrounding structures (such as the eyelids). Containing Gentamicin Sulfate, it works by disrupting the protein synthesis of harmful bacteria, effectively clearing infections like conjunctivitis or blepharitis.
- The Ointment Advantage: Unlike liquid eye drops that wash away quickly, this ointment stays on the eye surface longer, providing a sustained release of the antibiotic. It is often prescribed for use at bedtime to maintain treatment throughout the night.
- Vision Note: It is normal for your vision to become temporarily blurred immediately after applying the ointment. Avoid driving or operating machinery until your vision is completely clear.
- Sterility Warning: To prevent contamination, do not let the tip of the tube touch your eye, eyelashes, or any other surface. Always discard the tube 4 weeks after opening.
